Sparkling Clear Industries

40th Anniversary Campaign

  • Project Overview

To celebrate Sparkling Clear Industries’ 40th anniversary, I led a multi-platform storytelling project highlighting the company’s history, culture, and industry impact. The campaign included an editorial feature for BIC magazine (“Four Decades of Advancements in Industrial Filtration”) and a visually engaging LinkedIn carousel, connecting the company’s story to broader cultural, technological, and industry milestones.

  • My Role

    • Editorial: Interviewed founder Dave Johnson and long-term employees, then wrote and edited the feature for publication.
    • LinkedIn Carousel: Developed concept, wrote slide copy, and directed visuals to create a scrapbook-inspired, on-brand presentation.
    • Creative Direction: Recommended design elements including Polaroids, newspaper-style clippings, blueprint fragments, retro TVs, and browser windows to convey nostalgia and authenticity.
    • Campaign Strategy: Coordinated storytelling across channels to ensure consistency and audience engagement.
  • Challenges & Solutions

Challenge: Communicate 40 years of company history in ways that are engaging, digestible, and on-brand across different platforms.

Solution: Framed the anniversary around “What the world looked like in 1985”, pairing company milestones with cultural and technological context to spark nostalgia and relevance. Slide copy was concise and approachable, reflecting the brand’s pragmatic, dependable voice. The campaign concluded with a heartfelt thank-you slide to strengthen emotional connection with customers, employees, and partners.

  • Results

Created a flexible campaign asset that honored Sparkling Clear’s legacy and reinforced its reputation as a trusted partner.

Editorial featured in BIC magazine, showcasing thought leadership in the industrial filtration sector.

LinkedIn carousel drove organic engagement, with 444 impressions and a 48.4% click-through rate.

Provided assets that could be repurposed for blog posts and social media, extending reach and brand visibility.

Website Redesign for

Spot 58 Detail Center

  • Project Overview

I was tasked with refreshing the website for Spot58 Detail Center, a business specializing in auto detailing services. The goal was to not only give the website a fresh, modern look, but also to optimize it for search engine performance, making it more accessible and user-friendly for both customers and search engines.

A key part of the project involved differentiating their unique offering—Take it Easy Bar, a patio bar that welcomes all guests, whether they are waiting for their car to be detailed or simply stopping by for a drink.

  • My Role

In this project, I took on the responsibility of completely rebuilding the website using the existing branding guidelines. My focus was on creating a visually appealing design that aligns with Spot58’s brand identity while ensuring the website is easy to navigate and functions seamlessly across all devices.

Additionally, I developed a strategy to clearly differentiate the Take it Easy Bar from the auto detailing services, ensuring that both elements of the business were effectively highlighted on the site.

  • Challenges & Solutions

One of the key challenges in this project was that the client had previously been using PDF files to display their menu of services. This not only limited their ability to update information quickly but also negatively impacted their SEO, as search engines couldn't easily index the content within these PDFs. To address this, I reformatted and updated the webpage to include all services directly in the site's HTML. This change not only improved the site's SEO but also made it significantly easier for the client to update their offerings in the future.

  • Results

The client was thrilled with the refreshed website, which now features a modern, cohesive design that effectively showcases both Spot58’s auto detailing services and the Take it Easy Bar. The new FAQ section on the homepage has successfully clarified the bar’s accessibility to all guests, enhancing user experience and customer engagement. This successful project has led to plans for the next phase, where we will integrate their CRM system and set up an e-commerce platform, allowing Spot58 to fulfill orders online and further streamline their operations.

Promoting Exhibitions for

Catherine Couturier Gallery

Social Media Copywriting

"Cara Barer's abstract compositions are reminiscent of both mandalas and organic subjects like flowers and vegetables. Similar to a Rorschach test, Barer's creations spark endless contemplation. What shapes and stories will emerge as you explore her transformative work?

Join us at Catherine Couturier Gallery this Saturday at 5pm for a talk with the artist!"

  • Overview

As the Gallery Manager at Catherine Couturier Gallery, I was responsible for overseeing all aspects of gallery operations, from daily management to promoting exhibitions. My role involved ensuring the gallery ran smoothly while effectively marketing our artists and exhibitions to both local and national audiences.

  • My Role

I took charge of writing engaging and informative content for social media, crafting press releases, and designing targeted email campaigns to boost exhibition visibility. Additionally, I designed and produced a variety of print materials, such as postcards and exhibition catalogs, to support our promotional efforts and create a cohesive visual identity for each exhibition.

  • Challenges & Solutions

One challenge was ensuring accurate communication with artists to verify that all information—such as artwork details, artist statements, and exhibition narratives—was correct and up-to-date. To overcome this, I implemented a streamlined communication process that included regular check-ins and detailed review sessions with artists and the gallery director. This approach helped prevent errors and ensured that our promotional materials were both accurate and reflective of the artist’s vision.

  • Results

My efforts contributed to the successful planning, promotion, and execution of 17 art exhibitions and 2 art fairs. Each event drew positive attention and strong attendance, reinforcing the gallery's reputation as a premier destination for fine art photography. These successes have not only bolstered our artists' careers but also enhanced the gallery’s standing in the art community.

“Katie helped me do a total redesign on my business website at an incredibly reasonable price. She was responsive throughout the process and patient with my schedule & low level of experience. Katie helped me go from not liking anything about my website to having a functional, current, and attractive site that I can edit on my own and integrate with other applications. She was very easy to work with from start to finish and saved me a lot of money in design costs - plus my hosting cost is about half what it was before. 10/10 - Highly Recommend!!”
